Accessibility

This site is meant to be usable by everyone who comes to it. That is not a feature; it is part of the work.

The standard it is built to

The site is built toward WCAG 2.2 AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C. That work is done as the site is made, not bolted on afterward.

What that means here

• Text size. The Aa button in the top bar makes every page larger, in three sizes. The site remembers your choice.
• Keyboard. Everything interactive can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline so you always know where you are.
• Contrast and type. Text is sized and coloured to be read comfortably, and nothing on the site is set smaller than 16 pixels.
• Motion. The little movement the site has respects your reduced-motion setting. Turn it on in your device settings and the site holds still.
• Images. Meaningful images carry descriptions; decorative ones are marked so screen readers pass over them.
• The film. Our welcome film plays right here with captions.

If any part of this site is hard to use, with assistive technology or at all, write to info@gsuw.org and tell us what happened and what you were using. A person reads every message, and we would rather fix the problem than explain it.
