An Opportunity to Liberate Ourselves

As we journey through life, embracing humility becomes essential for nurturing love and empathy with age. Over time, as seasons fade, we realise certain aspects of life remain beyond repair. It’s likely we will reach the end with unresolved matters and unfinished personal quests. Yet, does this imply a wasted existence or a life lived in vain?

The final phase of life should not be misunderstood as a time to cement our shortcomings. Instead, it is an opportunity to liberate ourselves and continue to grow. During this period, we must seek answers within our hearts and souls rather than from external sources. It is essential to confront our true selves and bring clarity to our lives.

Evolving Into Our Authentic Selves

Consider viewing the process of ageing as a chance to evolve into our authentic selves. It’s a moment to evaluate the character we’ve been shaping throughout the years. Are we satisfied with who we’ve become? Have we become more truthful, compassionate, and empathetic as a result of our experiences? Can we start to perceive ourselves as merely a small part of the cosmos, rather than its focal point? Is it possible for us to embrace life’s heat, rain, pain, and limitations, accepting the inconveniences and discomforts without venting our frustrations on the rest of humanity for the inevitable challenges of human existence?

Is it possible for us to find joy in things we have long forgotten to appreciate? Can we extend ourselves to support those in need? Are we able to express our truths without insisting on being correct and embrace life’s uncertainties without demanding the world’s undue comfort? Can we engage in respectful dialogue and allow others the same courtesy?

One Final Chance to Transcend

In this phase of life, this period of growing older, we have one final chance to transcend the trivialities we’ve embraced over the years. Initially, we must confront these limitations and celebrate the time remaining to become more gracious rather than increasingly bitter.

In these times, a significant challenge is the temptation to succumb to our most self-centred instincts. On the other hand, a remarkable opportunity lies in confronting what has held us captive within ourselves, allowing our spirit to soar beyond the constraints that have anchored it for years.

If we can dissociate ourselves from all mundane concerns,
we will thrive in the ecstasy of everlasting peace.

If we free ourselves with the divine essence of purity,
the shadow of our soul will grow into bright light.

If we can detach ourselves from the world of passions,
we will reach the haven of the Universe.

If we’re fearless enough not to crawl in the mud,
we can discover a shelter in the creation.

If we intentionally plunge now into deep contemplation,
we can shed light on and eliminate all guilt from the past.

To live in such a way is the sign of those
who travel along the Soul journey.
